This is a recent problem. In environment when clicking to change port to either RAX on my desktop, V-Stack, and/ or Plogue Bidule, the first 3 ports work fine but anything past port 4, whether that be Bidule 4, Rax 4, etc etc, just clicks to 'All' and thereafter reverts to the first bunch of ports on the list as opposed to the final ports on the list.
I have trashed prefs but this hasn't helped, and yes, it happens on all Logic songs, whether new projects, or legacy projects from a while back.
I'm running a 2 x 3GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon with 16GB Ram. Logic Vers 8.0.2, RME Fireface and Midi Over LAN.
Thanks in advance for your help chaps and chapesses.

Device 'Oxygen' is assigned to MIDI Port Oxygen 61 which is not present.
Please ensure taht all MIDI settings are connected and switched on. if this is the case please check the mdi port setting of device 'OXYGEN'. If this is correct, click 'reset All Midi Drivers' in Preferences > MIDI> General.
I reset and still the same problem.
Please HELP!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks guys all the best,

Thanks for the help but I had already done that.problem is I can play the keys when I pressplay on the track it's stops the message comes up and the board loses power.
But thanksfor the reponsegladly appreciated.
All the ebst - I've got a copy of Cool Edit Pro 2.10 on my PC, just loaded the software. When I hit the Record button, I get the following popup message:
Input Device Error
A device ID has been used that is out of range for your system.
I've downloaded the PDF Manual that came on the disc, but I cannot find anything in the manual regarding input device. I also cannot find anything about a device ID, or what the 'range of my system' really means.
I called Adobe Audition tech support, and they told me I'd just have to upgrade to Audition, and that CEP was not supported anymore. There MUST be a simple answer for this so the software will operate and record.
Please help if you can. My email is: [email protected]
Thanks- RussAre you using windows 7 ? If yes then Cool Edit Pro is not compatible. If you are not on windows 7 then the problem might be your device settings.
Go in: Options > Device Proprieties and play with these settings. Then go in Options > Device Orders and play with these settings.
I recommand to set your soundcard input/output as the first device in Wave in / Wave out... Midi: your Midi ports if you plan to play with Midi. Also, you can't record Midi in CEP. You can open and edit Midi tho.
You can also open: Options > Windows Recording Mixer. Set your recording device.
By the way you should post here your computer specifications.
What is your operating system soundcard cpu memory etc and what do you use to record? - Hi all!
I just buy Audigi2 ZS and want to connect MIDI port to MIDI port of my YAMAHA keyboard. But when use Adobe Audition v2.0 and editting so I cannot connect and tranfering my data to YAMAHA and revert. Some body can help me fix this problem. Thanks you very much.Just FYI.
I probably overestimated RHEL/OEL-5.3 capability to 'compete in Music Showbiz' as a digital studio workstation OS. Seems that 'very old' alsa kernel drivers (1.0.17), compiled with actual kernel, don't like Audigy cards when it comes to MIDI interface, despite the fact the audio is perfect. Although I am still not sure nothing could be done as a workaround in order to get MIDI worked on OEL-5.3, the fact is that SB Audigy MIDI works like Roland Synth, sounding amazingly, if the kernel 2.6.18-128.1.1.0.1.el5 is recompiled with the actual alsa driver version 1.0.19 (modules snd-emu10k1, snd-emu10k1-synth, etc).
It's interesting that overall device and loaded-modules schema's picture is the same as with old alsa (original kernel). That's why I still think something could be done, at least as workaround, to get MIDI worked with original OEL-5.3 kernel.
NJ - Friends,
I'm having some audio-midi setup problems on my G4/1.25/10.5.1 machine. I'm thinking that a routine OS upgrade might help. However, this machine is not connected to the internet. Are there any alternate methods for upgrading system software? Thanks in advance!OK, what you should do is download the updates on another machine and burn them to a disc. Start at this link http://support.apple.com/downloads/#leopard for downloads and find, among other things, the 10.5.8 combo updater that works on PPC machines, plus security, QuickTime and other updates. Going from 10.5.1 to 10.5.8, there will probably be a bunch of things that you should install. Being off the internet with the machine, you can't have Software Update sort it out, so something might get missed, unfortunately.
My suggestion is this: if it looks like you might need a download, get it onto that disc. - Exciting to see that Logic Pro X has launched at last!
I'm hoping someone who has already had a chance to download it can report back on a specific feature.
In previous versions of Logic, the only way to record multiple MIDI sources (for example a V-Drums kit and a keyboard) at the same time has been to make sure they are on different MIDI channels, and then choose the 'auto demix MIDI channels' option in preferences.
In this way, the MIDI data is separated by channel and recorded to separate tracks.
However, it only separates the channels when two or more tracks are armed for recording, and does not offer any option for selecting the specific MIDI port for incoming MIDI signals.
DAWs such as Cubase and ProTools have always had a drop-down menu for MIDI channels, where the MIDI port can be chosen. This way, you can easily separate your MIDI controllers for either jamming or recording, and they will only play virtual instruments on tracks which are selected to their specific channel. This applies for recording as well as just jamming or trying parts prior to recording.
I have several hardware synths in my studio and often record MIDI jams with multiple players, and on that basis moved back to Cubase last year. I have been hoping Logic would update this feature for a long, long time!
Can anyone who is using Logic Pro X already confirm whether MIDI tracks now have a port select option, or whether the old channel-based system and the clumsy 'auto demix MIDI channels' method remains...?
Cheers,
MikeGuys, this is really quite simple to accomplish in the midi environment, susprised you've been hunting for so long for the answers, here's a quick step by step:
1. Go into Midi Environment
2. Change the view in the Environment window to show Click & Ports
3. To make things easier, click the 'Input Notes' label, and delete the object. And also click the 'Input View' label, and delete that also, so you're left with a blank canvas. (These are handy tools when testing, just deleting them to make things clearer).
You should now be left with just the Sequencer Input (And midi click, but ignore that) - Basically anything that connects into this input goes through as an input into logic... So, all we have to do now is to split each device into seperate channels. This is simply done through the 'transform' objects.
4. Add 2x Transformer objects via the 'new' menu (Or however many external inputs you need).
5. Drag the connection from each device listed on the left, to it's own transformer as shown:
6. Then plug each transformer into the Sequencer input
7. Double click each Transformer object and simply FIX the midi channel to be whatever you desire, in this example i've picked channel 2 and channel 3
8. Now, just make sure the 'Auto demix by channel if multitrack record' option is selected in project settings, and you're good to go!
Now just simply select the channel number that corresponds to the devices you transformed, and when more than one track is armed for recording it will be split to how you would like. *Please take note, that the demix only kicks in when multitracking, i.e. more than one track is armed*
Now, this seems really long winded on a forum with screenshots etc. - But it's truly not, takes about 30 seconds, and once you've done it a few times makes sense. Plus going through an environment like this opens up possibilites such as splitting one midi keyboard into different zones which can transmit to different channels, so you can have bass on your left hand, and lead on the right for example. But the midi data will split to each track when recording.
Reply back if you get stuck, more than happy to help! - Anyone seen this before?
I've got a MOTU Midi Express with 4 ins and outs - it's my main interface.
I've also got a Novation Remote25SL which works as a control surface/controller with 3 out ports. It requires some special Environment cabling to work properly with Logic.
Everything was working fine until lately all my projects stopped responding to MIDI from my master keyboard...
I eventually discovered it was because Logic had some how changed the order of MIDI ports. It used to be 'Midi Express 1.... 4' followed by 'Remote25SL 1...3'.
Now if I look at the 'outputs & Ports' page in the Environment, it's reversed. 'Remote25SL 1...3' followed by 'Midi Express 1....4'.
So what? Well, the dumb cables in the environment don't move when the ports do. So the cables that used to be connected to the Remote25SL are now connected to the Motu Midi Express, which wreaks havoc on my project.
Any ideas a) what causes this, and b) how to re-order the ports so it goes back the way it was before?
I've tried messing around in the AudioMidi setup tool but don't see any thing here that will help.
It points up, I think, a flaw in Logic's 'logic'. Environment cables should be tied to physical/logical ports, not just handed out on a 'first come, first serve' to whoever shows up on the midi bus first. The system apparently can 'see' the difference between the Motu and the Novation. So why can't Logic?
Grrr. Time to start reading the Nuendo brochures again.I HAVE A SOLUTION
and it works fine for me after a series of trial and error experiments.
Quit Logic (for now) and do the following.
1) Download the app MidiPipe from this site:
http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/audio/midipipe.html
2) Plug in all of your MIDI controllers (I mean, all of them)
3) Start making one 'pipe' at a time. Think of them as 'rules' for MIDI flow.
I wish I could post screen shots here... I can show you that I have 6 'pipes' happening.
Why: I have these controllers (according to Logic) happening:
Korg nanoKEYS, nanoPAD, nanoKONTROL; Alesis Photon X25; midiman (now M-Audio) midisport 2x2; Tascam US-144 (the MIDI portion)
4) In these pipes, ONE AT A TIME, these pipes are very simple:
-drag a •Midi In for each controller,
-click the 'hijack' button.
-drag a •Midi Out next,
-create a new virtual Midi Out Port and name it. In my case I went numerically (e.g. 1 nanoPAD, 2 nanoKEYS...) just so I can see the port name is different than the input. Do what works for you here
5) Create a new pipe, redo step 4 until you've created a new pipe for every controller you have.
Save this Midipipe file, and open it prior to any Logic session, before you open Logic.
6) Open Logic. In the global preferences, go to Controller Assignments (Command-K)
and you'll have to define any custom controller data (this may not be necessary for you). But I had to change the controller listening port for all nanoKONTROL assignments. You may not have to do anything here at all.
7) In the case of the folks trying to use two (or more) controllers, as in three keyboards at a time you still have to change one setting: and unfortunately this is not global for Logic, you'll have to change it every single project:
-Under File>Project Settings>Recording, you need to check the box that says
'Auto Demix by channel if multitrack recording'
-For each virtual instrument, you need to set the Midi Channel it responds to. Generally on the left above your channel strip, named Inst 1 (2, 3, 4, ...) depending on which track you're on, click the drop-triangle and you'll see: MIDI Channel: ALL --- change it to whatever you assigned your controller to
-After you've assigned those MIDI Channe;s per track; now arm each track you wish to record onto (or play, trigger, etc) ---arm meaning 'click the R so it's red'
You should be good to go!
To boil it down to simply: download MidiPipe, figure it out, define controller data if necessary, check Demix by Channel in Project Settings, Set each track's Midi Channel, Arm each track, record two (or more) parts at once.
You'll spend 30 minutes or more figuring out MidiPipe for your setup (less if you're brilliant); anywheres up to an hour or more in Controller Assignments but you may not need to do anything here); and less than a minute for the rest. Do the heavy work once (and tweak it) -- after that, the checkboxes/Midi Channel assignments/track arming is like, 10 clicks every project.
Good luck!
Works great for me with this setup:
all the controllers listed above, Logic 8.0.2, iMac 2.4Ghz, OSX 10.5.6
~Robb - Hi, I have been using my Audigy 2 platinum dri've for a few years now and have been very pleased with it, the main things I do on my pc is music creation mainly Midi but also some analogue audio as well, I also do lots of video making. I am just about to build a new system with Vista ultimate as the platform, I currently use XP Pro. I have little use for Creative?s own software and personally I do not think it is that good, I know Creative have released a new driver for my sound card But, my question is will my Midi port connections and things like my line in and the auxiliary ports and the fire wire port on the front platinum panel work with this new driver, and without the Creative software installed on my pc, and as we all no by now it looks like we will not be seeing any at all, or not for ages yet. you see I am a wheelchair user and I can not readily fiddly about a the back of my pc that is why a bought the sound blaster so I can easily plug in and unplug what I like, can anyone give me some help or advice on this issue please. ??Guess I wasn't clear enough. I have uninstalled the soundcard and reinstalled over a dozen times even going so far as making sure all the drivers that the device properties lists are really deleted from the system. I have resinstalled DirectX at least twice using the latest version from MS. The only thing I have not done with DirectX so far is installed the SDK version which I will be doing eventually anyway. I even uninstalled and then reinstalled my video card as it shared files with the sound card. As for getting the latest version of openAL I see little point in that as Windows forces openAL through DirectX anyway and none of my games use it. Nor does the device depend on it to work. Any other suggestions?

KT333 Ultra; fuzzy logic, 1.6xp overclocking problem help !!!!!Not that I am an expert o/c but here are some thoughts on the matter.
My comments are based on my experiences of the KT3 Ultra2 which is basically the same as the Ultra version.
This mobo does not have the ability to lock the PCI/AGP bus freely from the FSB. However, it does have dividers. At 133 a 1/4 divider kicks in. Above 152FSB the 1/5 divider works, so that at 166 the PCI & AGP buses will be back in sync. If you are o/c your cpu, don't go from 133 to 145, etc since you will be running the PCI/AGP buses further out of whack. Just go to either the mid 150's or to 166 in one jump. The other problem / issue relates to your cpu. From what you say you have one of the old Palominos which are not great o/c's. I would personally o/c your cpu from the BIOS rather than 'Fluffy Logic' which I would tend to stay away from.
With a 166FSB cpu a very stable o/c would be 175-177 beyond 180 gets decidedly tricky.
Hope this helps - Hi
Just recently my mail has stopted working due to a port problem. By my inbox i get a small icon which is a triangle with an explanation mark in. When i click it the first message i get is:
*Connection Failed*
+There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Check the settings for account 'POP Account' or try again.+
+The server error encountered was: The connection to host mail.kahane.co.uk on port 110 failed.+
Then it willl give me a chice to go offline or online, ill click online and the icon is still there so i click the icon again and the second message i get is:
Alert
+There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Check the settings for account 'POP Account' or try again.+
+The server error encountered was: The connection to host mail.kahane.co.uk on port 110 failed.+
I haven't changed any settings in the preferances or done anything which may have caused this. Incase you need to know i am on a POP account.
I would much appreciate any help, thanksMe too... it comes and goes. It all started when I got a wireless router. - Hi folks - I wonder if anyone can help. Rock Ape (UK) ) Thanks in advance.gilgaron is correct. power the hub and place the devices that require over 500ma on it-if the hub supports high power-which it should. look at your periphs you will notice that they have the power requirement listed on the sticker.
each individual root hubs only powers 500ma for all the ports not 500ma for each individual port. so the best bet usually is get a self powered hub and place the 500ma+ devices on it. also you may have the option of self powered device instead of usb power. that is also suggested if they need 500ma or more. - Ok ..... I.ve got bfd 1.5 and I am trying out a trigger software called drumagog.Know what I need to do is trigger bfd on my istrument channell from drumagog which is on my audio channel ( a snare ) as a plugin. I am however get a midi in signal on my midi port which is being sent from the audio channell which has the trigger plugin drumagog. I don't really use midi much on logic 7.2 just a keyboard to use for esx etc. I really need help on this one..............Antonydone
- Hello,
The problem is that the USB 3.0 port continues to turn off shortly after connecting any device (mouse, usb memory, printer...).
The only way to restore it's functionality is to reboot. I have continued to have this problem since I bought the computer.
There is no issue with the 2 USB 2.0 ports.
I have bios 3.0, win 7 64bit home premium.
Few other people have address the same problem here before but I didn't see any solution.
Please Help!

I sent my laptop to Toshiba labs here in israel.
They replaced the usb 3 part in the computer.
2 days have passed for now and it is working!
Finally! - Just built his system a couple of weeks ago. My first build. When I first started the system, I was using the integrated graphics. I had my speakers plugged into the green audio jack on the MB, and it worked fine. Used it like this for a couple of days while transferring programs, photos, etc. I was never able to get the HDMI port working to set up both monitors, so I removed the graphic card from my old computer (GE Force 210), installed it in the new computer and installed the NVIDIA drivers for it. This got both monitors working, but then I found the sound was not working. I tried connecting the speakers to the surround sound ports and they worked, but at a very low volume. I finally connected the speakers to the front speaker port. This works but the sound quality is not very good. I get random? static noises.
I had it this way for a few days while I tried to troubleshoot the problem. It seemed like the problem started after installing the graphic card and drivers, so I removed them and tried it again. Still the rear speaker port did not work. Also, at this time I tried to get the dual monitor setup working again. I had found that the IGD multi-monitor setting was disabled, and assumed that was why I could not get both monitors working the first time around. After enabling this setting, still could not get both monitors working. No HDMI. I am really not too concerned about this, as I plan to get a better graphic card, but thought that it might be related to the audio port problem.
I believe there is a newer version of BIOS, but I am not sure if that is something that I want to tackle. Does anyone have any ideas of what could cause this? Thanks.
MontyNot real sure of this since I haven't been personally involved in it, but the HDMI problem could be related to a cable issue? HDMI 1.4 versus older types? Monitor v1.4 compliant, etc.?
A battery removed CMOS clear & reset may be of help. It's worth a try. If the sound was clear & worked normal before, I doubt a UEFI/BIOS update would be of benefit. Something hardware related, drivers, or the way the OS is responding are my guesses for the sound problem & static.
A corruption in Windows is always a possibility. Doing a fresh install of the OS may help. Maybe before that extreme, using a utility like driver sweeper to get a fresh start with the audio drivers. Presume the speaker system is a self powered unit?

Achappa (Vishnuvardhan) is a soldier from Madikeri who is injured while the Second World War is raging. In the hospital he meets an Army nurse (Suhasini) who is also from Coorg. After the war, both get married in Madikeri. Achappa goes back to the Army and his wife lives with her in-laws. She has Achappa's son but she becomes barren after giving birth. The son is named Viraj but Achappa hasn't seen him as he hasn't had a break from the Army.
India becomes independent and partitioned. Achappa is stationed on India's border in Rajasthan. Meanwhile, Viraj is a couple of years old and Achappa longs to see him. So his wife and son travel to meet him. But then tension breaks between India and Pakistan along the border. Viraj becomes a casualty even before his father gets to see him. Achappa and Suhasini are aggrieved; she becomes an Army nurse again. Despite Suhasini's insistence, Achappa refuses to remarry for the sake of having another child. They remain faithful to each other and live like this as years pass by.
Achappa becomes an Army Major, and he trains young army men in the Army Institute of Dehradun. One day Achappa's aged parents from Mercara come to live with him. They have been kept in the dark about Viraj's death and so they long to see their grandchild. When they come to know the truth, Achappa's unwell mother can't bear the shock and she dies. Meanwhile, the Indo-China War breaks out and Achappa is sent to the border with his troop. Achappa and his troop are captured by the Chinese and tortured. But Achappa remains loyal and doesn't reveal what his Chinese interrogators want. In his troop is a young, promising soldier (Ramkumar) whom Achappa treats as his son. They manage to escape into the Indian border but are mortally wounded. Achappa dies there while his protégé dies in the army hospital. Achappa's corpse has a war hero's funeral honored by the country, but Suhasini loses her sanity.

Theme[edit]
The title, meaning a string of pearls, stands for what Achappa promises his wife; every year he buys a pearl and gives it to her with the hope that one day she can make a necklace of it. She does get her pearl necklace complete only to have it broken at Achappa's funeral. The movie depicts how war affects a soldier's life and his family. The film opens with a scene where Hitler is shown giving a speech. The backdrop is the Second World War in which Achappa the soldier is abroad fighting. When his young son becomes a casualty in another war (in 1947, against invading Pakistan) the mother buries him in the sand dunes while vultures hover overhead. While the soldier and his wife pass by the same spot the mother runs to uncover the corpse but Achappa stops her, hence the father never gets to see his son. The film ends with the funeral of the soldier at the time of the India-China War and his wife becoming insane. Skeletons riding horseback through the darkness are shown at the start and the end of the movie. This is a metaphor for the ravages of war. The movie is not just a family saga but it depicts a larger dimension, it shows the devastating effects of war. Imperialists start the war for their own greed but ultimately it is the people who suffer. Director Rajendra Singh Babu has conveyed a strong message - stop the war.
